Probe for nanoindentation/force curves on gold and PEG-gold nanoparticles

Hello, I am looking to perform nanoindentation/force curves for gold nanoparticles and PEGylated gold nanoparticles and was wondering what probes I should be using.

For the gold, I assume that the first answer would be a diamond tip probe for nanoindentation/force curves, but would anything else (i.e. less expensive) be an option?

For the PEG-gold nanoparticles, I have less of an idea of what I would need in terms of stiffness, as I haven't found anything relevant in regards to literature search.

I am using a Bioscope, if that helps.

Hi Charles,

The diamond tipped nanoindentation probe is indeed the suggested choice for indenting on gold. If I remember correctly we even ship a gold coated test sample with the probes. I am not so sure about your other samples and how thick the PEG coating layer is but the nanoindentation probe again might be a good start as you need it anyway. For "standard" cantilevers you can always ask Bruker probes to send you a few samples to try them out!
