I am a graduate student from Georgia Tech. We have a Multimode SPM with an E type piezo tube. We need to learn the frequency response of the piezo in z direction and/or the transfer function of the piezo. Is this information available to users? If so how can I obtain it?

Best Regards,

Giray

This is easy to do with a NanoScope V. Here is a quick recipe:

1) Engage on the surface in contact mode.

2) Use the Generic Lockin feature and set Lock-In 1 to drive Z and Vertical as the input (see attached image)

3) Sweep

You should see the main resonance around ~12 kHz.

Hope this helps,

Fritz
