SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.     Resident system level expert on Bruker Atomic Force Microscopes (AFMs) and associated applications.

2.     Technical development and proficiency of Americas Bruker Nano Surfaces (BNS) post-sale customer facing team on Bruker AFM instrumentation and associated applications through training and knowledge data base development.

3.     Advanced AFM applications training of Bruker’s AFM customers.

4.     Leader of Americas BNS post sale technical team and center of excellence

5.     Direct advanced support of customer AFM instrumentation and applications

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

1.     Internal technical development of BNS post -sale customer facing team on BNS AFM applications and instrumentation.

2.     Advanced applications training of Bruker AFM customers.

3.     System level advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting of AFM applications and instrumentation

4.     Leadership of BNS post sale technical team and center of excellence for the Americas.

5.     Knowledge data base development.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.     Pre-sales support

2.     Other duties as assigned

 

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

1.     Up to 25% travel on short notice both domestically and international

2.     Able to lift 40lb from floor to hip height

3.     Able to work in a clean room environment

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

 

1.     Hand's on AFM experience with advanced applications knowledge

2.     Able to experiment, test, diagnose, troubleshoot complex cutting edge electro-mechanical and computerized systems

3.     Demonstrated ability to use standard tools (DVM, Oscilloscope)

4.     Solid theoretical understanding of physics and electronics to enable problem solving of complex system and application issues.

5.     Ability to lead a team.

6.     Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with MS office proficiency.

7.     Customer interaction and training skills.

8.     Ability to multitask & team player.

9.     Self-sufficient in computer/networking skills necessary to analyze logs, summarize data.

10.   Able to travel both domestically and internationally on short notice.

 

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

1.     Minimum Master of Science, PhD preferred, in Engineering, Physics, or other scientific degree.

2.     Minimum 3 year experience in scientific field with complex high tech instrumentation.

3.     Minimum 3 years advanced applications experience with Atomic Force Microscopes.

4.     Basic knowledge of analog and digital electronics

5.     Training experience highly desired.

6.     Leadership experience highly desired.
