Hi,

I am working on an Innova AFM and I'm having an issue with the laser.  I align it but once its engaged to the surface the laser jumps out of alignment.  If I then align it and scan it stays aligned until I unengage it and it jumps.  I'm not scanning anything I haven't scanned before but I never had this problem.  I'm looking for any suggestions about what the problem is and how to fix it.

Thanks for any help!

It can be laser misalignment, strong interaction of the probe with the surface, maybe something else. I could take a look if you decide to share your screen with me or chat via Skype: FalconDot.

Hi Sontony42,

What kind of tips and sample are you looking at? I assume everything worked before and you changed something. What happens when you try aligning e.g. an RTESPA and try scanning the supplied calibration grid in TappingMode?

Regards,

Stefan
