Hello all,

I want to characterize mechanical properties of electrospun fibers using  DI Dimension 3000 AFM. I have 3 micron diameter fibers suspended over  50 micron etched grooves of glass slide. I want use bending beam method.  I am not familiar how to use software in force to generate force displacement curve.

Could you please advice me how to use softwere and what should be the rough parameters i have to use.

Thank you.

Hi, you can contact prof Lim Chwee Teck from NUS at ctlim@nus.edu.sg on the experimental details, he has more than 10 years experience as well as one of the pioneers of using AFM based indentation/foce mapping method to study mechanical properties of electrospun nanofibers. He should be able to provide you useful experimental details since he used a DI3100 system, quite similar to your system. Good luck.
