Stumbled across problems with basic analysis. Exporting images including cross section lines and cross section data.

I have an image with 3x cross section lines across it. When I go to export the cross section lines dissapear. I just want a nice image to correlate my XZ cross section data with.

right click > export> sceen display = appears to be low quality  without control over file extension, font, dpi, data bars etc.

right click > copy clipboard > paste = unknown quality image without control either.

Am I missing something? Or should I just use the copy clipboard or even print screen and then cut and prepare my figures in other IP software?

Also it is annoying that in the section plot i need to activate each line and export the XZ data seperately - why not just one txt file with blueXZ, red XZ and greenXZ? Alternately why not just allow the section plot that is already there be exported as a tif or png file with font & dpi control?

Double annoying is if you accidentally left click on the image (with the 3 cross section lines) the line markers in the section plot automatically revert to some standard lateral separation...

Then I have to re position the markers and export the XZ data again (3x!) and finally use copy clipboard on the image which I then have to paste into other software and cut and replace fonts, alter size etc to comply with publishers instructions.

So mainly I'm blowing off steam but I'm really hoping to be doing something wrong so that someone can tell me an easier way.

Hi there,

would you like to drop me one of your files for trial and the version of the software you are on? I will start with NanoScope Analysis:

Thanks for the offer Dmitry,

I've just installed Gwiddion v2.31 and 15min later I have a solution. http://gwyddion.net/
You should check it out.

Still if anyone has some instructions for me with the problem using Nanoscope Analysis v1.4 R3Sr3 I'm happy to hear about them.

Cheers, MC
