The DMT force model assume an elastic semi-infinite solid indented by a conical/pyramidal tip. However, most materials, including polymers and most bio-samples do not satisfy this assumption. So, the quantitative estimates can be wrong depending on the size, thickness and material properties of the sample. How do you resolve this issue?
