Hello everyone,
I have another problem with the movement of the tip in z direction. In some cases the tip does not make a proper complete cycle in the Z direction. When checking the movement in the signal tracing dialogue the tip moves correctly upwards, but seems to "fall" in the downwards direction. The voltage diagram shows the correct movement of the upwards direction, but the downwards direction is a constant high voltage. I manage sometimes to bring back the proper Z cycle by moving the laser spot further backwards towards the scanner.
Anybody had similar problems or knows the solution for this? I am using a Veeco Caliber with SPMLab.
Hi Matthias,
Has this issue been addressed?
Sorry for the delay!
Thanks,
Teddy

Not really, but I think that is linked somehow to the feedback loop. If the laser or the feedback loop is turned off, the movement works fine.
Could that be connected to high feedback (PID) values?
Best regards, Matthias
Can you contact our Tech Support team?
I'm not familiar with Caliber myself.
