In our SPM ICON system a new strange acoustic noise starts when the controller is on...

The controller vibrates a lot and a metallic noise appears until the probe results in contact.

It could be related to a resonance of the piezo or to the diaphragm pumping system?

Anybody could help me? I can send a registration of the noise... I have also noticed that the "SPM + Limit" LED is on.

Best regards

P.

This question would be better addressed directly to the service group, but it sounds like your vacuum pump in the stage controller box is failing.

Service can be contacted at AFM dot Support at bruker dot com.

Good luck!
