What is MIRO?
it is short for Microscope Image Registration and Overlay. It's a software option in V8.10 that uses the video image and lets you overlay NanoScope data channels over it. Works similar to Photoshop layers with transparency, etc.
Mostly used for Catalyst/Bioscope but also interesting for ICON
For a concrete application, you can download our App Note #125 on the Veeco website:
http://www.veeco.com/pdfs/appnotes/AN125-Rev_A0-Characterizing_Anticytoskeletal_Drugs_on_Living_Cells_Using_MIRO_and_BioScope_Catalyst_AFM-AppNote_1.pdf
We have the ICON, but not the catalyst. I want to overlay the modulus /adhesion channels for instance on the 3d topography. Can you suggest teh best possible way to do it? Ccan we enable MIRO on NS 8.1?
you don't need MIRO for this purpose, you can use Nanoscope Analysis to do so. just select skin channel that you are interested when you render the 3d image.
