The Socket Connector of Multimode 8

Hi,all.

I want to put the Base of Multimode 8 into the Glove Box including the Head, Holder and CCD as well. The Controller, Light source, Bipotentiostat are left outside of the Glove Box.

So I want to extend the connecting wire in order to connect the stuffs inside and outside the Glove box.

Then I want to buy some Socket Connectors to do this:

  • USB connector (easy available )
  • 37 Pin serial port connector (easy available)

Some connectors are difficult for me to buy one in China.

  • Socket connector for C-AFM (see figure)
  • Socket connector for EC-AFM(see figure)
  • optic fiber(see figure), I really do not know the exact type of this optic fiber.

Can anyone tell how to buy those connectors?

Hi Hao,

I'm afraid I don't know about the optical fibre, but as it is only delivering white light for the top view optics I don't think the specification should matter too much - any old optical fibre of the correct diameter should be fine (though the white light source can get quite hot, so take care not to melt plastic fibres)

 

In the UK, RS components stock the 9 and 15 pin connectors used for C-AFM and EC-AFM (see links below). RS also have a Chinese webpage, so they may have the parts you need.

I have used these connectors to make connections between the base and head of multimode AFMs (but not for the application modules you mention) and they seem to be wholly compatible with the connectors used on the AFMs themselves.

Are you aware that we have a product that might be a complete solution for you? I would also be interested in knowing more about the application you are planning to address with the AFM glove box combination.

As you may know, what we want to do with the configuration I has metioned is EC-AFM.

For we will use lithium-foil during the experiment which should be kept from exposure to air and water, We must do the operation in the glove box.
