Dear All,

what book would you suggest as a good introduction to the theory of Atomic Force Microscopy for protein / nanotechnology / biology researchers please?

Thank you beforehand.

With kind regards,
Dmitry

Hi Dimitri,

I suggest the latest book by Yves Dufrene: "Life at the Nanoscale"

http://books.google.fr/books?id=N5JWl4gtG5wC&pg=PA412&lpg=PA412&dq=dufrene+life+at+the+nanoscale&source=bl&ots=00lCbQ0tw4&sig=HLDicsgv76609fsiHdWl99Xgcvs&hl=fr&ei=TKzXToX8A7PR4QTa0onWDQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CCAQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false

It is rather dense and can be recommended to both AFm beginners and experts.

Best,

Alex.

Hi, Dmitry,

the classic one I read at beginning was Atomic Force Microscopy in Cell Biology, Volume 68 (Methods in Cell Biology) http://books.google.com/books?id=gL9MpmcpwOUC&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_ge_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q&f=false

and a good series of books are 'Applied Scanning Probe Methods' published since 2004

the most recent books I am reading are Scanning Probe Microscopy in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology 2010 and 2011, and of course the one that Alex suggested.
