Hello,
I have two Nanoscope E controllers serial numbers # NSE-102 and 287. I've noticed that when applying a Z-modulation through the SAM (di) in STM/ECSTM configuration, the old system (102) does not respond while the newer system does. Other than that both controllers work smoothly in both STM and ECSTM configs. Does anyone know if this is a problem in the old NSE controller or if Z-mod is just an upgrade option that was introduced in newer NSE versions ?. If this is the case, does anybody know the technical details of such an upgrade?. Thanxs a lot!!!

Hi Isma,
Z-mod was designated for NanoscopeIII/IIIa controller (an more advanced model vs Nannoscope E); in other word, it was intended to be disabled on Nanoscope E. Apparently, it ended up on one of your Nanoscope E controllers by mistake or luck in the handling process. Or maybe that E controller was upgraded to NSIII at a later point but with the label wrong???
