I have a very basic question since I am new in using Multimode 8 AFM.

I would like to perform Amplitude/Phase-Distance curve. I Failed to find the steps in the manual,

Can you please show me the steps to record the curve in tapping mode,

Thanks & regards,

Souier.

Hi Souier,

This should be very simple. After you have engaged the probe on the sample surface in the "workflow" bar on the left of the screen the next node/ icon after engage should be "ramp". Click on this and it will take you to the force curve GUI which gives you three channels and a bunch of parameters on the left. Simply assign the channels as you wish i.e. Ch1: TM deflection versus distance Ch2: Amp versus distance Ch3 Phase versus distance. In the ramp parms on the left remember to set a trigger. I would recommend an absolute trigger on amplitude, trigger direction negative (as the amplitude will decrease) so that the probe does not overshoot and damage the tip/ cantilever/ sample as it touches the surface.

Best regards
