Position Summary
Bruker is a leading worldwide high technology company, well known in Academics and Industry for performance Scanning Probe Microscopes (SPM), White Light Interferometers, and Stylus Profilers. All of Bruker’s Nano Surface instruments are the performance standards for three-dimensional characterization. With offices in the US, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Japan, Bruker is a global company, with a revenue in excess of $1B per annum.
We have two vacancies for a Sales Applications Scientist or Engineer one located in Santa Barbara, CA and the other in the Midwest Territory of the United States. We propose a challenging position in an advanced environment, working on leading-edge technologies and having many international contacts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Perform product demonstrations at our application laboratory or at customer sites, for multi-disciplinary applications.
· Establish and maintain communication and relationships with customers.
· Attend shows, conferences - making presentations and leading workshops.
· Understand customer needs, gain customer feedback and improve customer satisfaction.
· Develop a strong understanding of competitive technology and products.
· Provide technical and applications advice to colleagues and customers.
· Work closely with the Regional Sales team in driving instrumentation sales to exceed corporate forecasts.
Required Qualifications
· Advanced degree in a subject related to scanning probe microscopy or nanometer scale characterization, PhD preferred
· Several years of post-University, multi-disciplinary experience is an advantage
· Expertise in scanning probe microscopy
· Multidisciplinary background and experience
· Highly self-motivated with a competitive “will to win”
· Ready to travel frequently (up to 70%)
· Good written and verbal communication skills. Multiple languages are a plus.
· Bio/LifeScience or Materials Science background will be considered a significant advantage. Experience with optical profilers/optical interferometry will be considered a significant advantage
