  • Fluid Cell compatibility with Dimethyl Sulfoxide

Any apps experts here that can tell me if the Dimension Icon Fluid Cell (model DTFML-DD-HE) is compatible with dimethyl sulfoxide? Thanks, Dave

  • Re: Which cantilever is which? Schematic drawing of the probe chip?

Yes, it should! All of the applicable products now have a direct link to the layout diagrams, under their product page's "Cantilever Specifications" section on the Probe site. Thanks for the great suggestion!

Hi Emily, Page 45 of our downloadable catalog, which you can find on the homepage of our Probe site brukerafmprobes.com (or you can download it directly here ) has a schematic of the cantilever orientations for our multi-cantilevered probes. The SNL probes, specifically, have the C & D cantilever pointing away from you as you open the box of probes

  • Re: afm tip "cushion"

Gronfisk, The probes are packaged in boxes made by Gel-Pak. You can find more information here http://www.gelpak.com/ , including technical info about the gel itself. The basic model that we use to package probes is the "AD-23CAS", which is the gel in a 2" x 3" box with a conductive bottom and anti-static top, but Gel-Pak offers

  • probe questions for EFM/KPFM

    2) 1) Why exactly is the Iridium there [in the SCM-PIC probes]? Is it possible to just obtain a Pt coat, and would there be any advantages/disadvantages in doing so? 3) 2) What is the maximum frequency you would recommend? We will be using this with a KPFM, and the NSV manuals don’t do a good job of telling me what the maximum response time is

  • Thermal tune on NSIVa with adapter

Hi, What are the disadvantages of using thermal tune with the adapter on an NSIVa vs. thermal tune on an NSV? Aside from the ease-of-use factor, what are the other limitations? Is thermal tune less accurate on the NSIVa? Also, does the adapter work with the MultiMode, or only the Dimension? Thanks,

  • Re: how to clean the raster sample

Hi Dongli, I assume you are referring to one of the calibration gratings, correct? If yes, then the cleaning procuedure that we have found to work well is to put the sample in an ultrasonic bath for 10 minutes in Acetone, then 10 minutes in Isopropyl, then 10 minutes in water. Dave
