it is short for M icroscope I mage R egistration and O verlay. It's a software option in V8.10 that uses the video image and lets you overlay NanoScope data channels over it. Works similar to Photoshop layers with transparency, etc. Mostly used for Catalyst/Bioscope but also interesting for ICON
