  • negative phase?

    Hi, Any explanation for negative phase I have observed in regular tapping mode? I am looking at Polypropylene/rubber compounds with a cantilever with k~1N/m (autotune looks fine - phase is centered at 90 degrees, I am imaging at 5% offset from peak), and see negative phase on the rubber domains. That doesn't seem to be physically meaningful so not

    Hi Adam, It is indeed a long list. I want to confirm that TMFbIgain and TMFbPgain are in fact the integral and proportional gain? Also, I wasn't able to find the amplitude setpoint (the setpoint at which you actually image in the list.) Thanks for your help, Dalia

  • Q on spring constants of stiff cantilevers

    Hi, I heard that in general thermal tune method to calibrate the spring constant of stiff cantilevers is not very reliable (this has an impact on QNM calibration.) Why is this the case? If you get good signal to noise in the thermal tune spectrum and a good fit, shouldn't the spring constant that you get from this method be OK? I understand that
