  • Accuracy of calibration grids

(I post this message on the Forum, previously, and uncorrectly, published as announcement) Hi all, I have three calibration grids from Digital Instruments/Veeco/Bruker and I would like to know what reasonably are the relative x,y,z accuracies of these specimens (these are not NIST certified samples, nevertheless it should be possible, based on the way

  • Force volume on Bioscope Catalyst - Defl. vs ZSensor ?

Dear all, I am wondering if there is a way to record Force Volume maps on a Catalyst system recording Defl. vs ZSensor instead of Defl. vs Zpiezo signals? While imaging living cells in FV for combined topographic and mechanical analysis, ZSensor turns out to be more accurate than Zpiezo, because height variations are huge (several microns). This happens

  • Damaged pin in Catalyst tip-holder seat

Recently we went into a problem with our Catalyst head: some water contacted the retractable metallic pins located in the tip-holder seat on the microscope head. One of the pins (the one in the right lower-bottom position) got oxidized to the point that it detached, freeing a small spring below it. http://idefix.mi.infn.it/~podesta/temp/Pins_tip_holder_Catalyst_after_oxydation
