The answers to your questions are: 1) npg-10 Au coated probes - usually the B cantilever, spring constant ~0.25 N/m after functionalisation as measured on a sapphire surface in buffer solution. 2) no, I was, I'm sorry to say, not aware that the multimode AFM I use for PFQNM had a Force Volume feature

    Dear All I've worked now for some time with PFQNM and functionalised NPG-10 Au coated probes, using SAMs such as mercapto-alkyl-carboxyl/hydroxyl/hydroquinone/diquinone on a lignin-nanocellulose (polyphenol/polyglucose) system in buffer liquid to see if I could topochemically characterise the two elements. Unfortunately, it has only rarely payed

  • QNM, tip radius, deflection sensitivity and spring constant

    I have just purchased 20 NPG-10 AU coated probes for QNM. The idea is to functionalise the tips and chemically map lignocellulosic surfaces. Before mapping various calibration/estimation procedures are required: Tip radius, deflection sensitivity and spring constant. I have not received much training in the technique and mostly tried calibrating Biolevers

  • Choice of probes for plant cell walls using QNM

    The purpose of my using AFM is to do CFM (functionalisation) using QNM with a Multimode AFM scanner, Nanoscope IIIa controller on plant cell wall composites in fluid. So far I have tried DNP-10 self-gold coated probes and factory gold coated Biolevers BLRC150. The latter are very, very fragile and perhaps too sensitive for the amount of forces between
