Hello Stefan, Thank you for the hints on how to edit the post. Yes, the metal balls that support the cartridge were reglued. This is the image obtained with the laser hitting the shorter cantelever: There are interference on the curve. Another picture shows the position of the laser on the cantilever and the path to the detector. If you could advise

Stefan, thank you for your message. Unfortunately, there is some problem with my connection to the forum and I'm unable to post the images. I tried to copy directly from my url and also pasting it from word but did not work. Is there any other way we can send the images? Thank you, Luci

  • problems with force curves/Nanoscope IIIA

Please could anyone give us some advice on this problem with the Nanoscope IIIA. The lab has been collecting force-volume data over the years without major problems with the force curves. In the last days, some problems have arisen when adjusting the laser on the cantilever. AFM users have been unable to adjust the laser on long cantilevers as the spot

  • high molecular resolution with NC-AFM

Does anyone know if it is possible to work with NC-AFM (amplitude modulated) in air to acquire high resolution of molecules such as C60, pentacene, etc... I have seen impressive results of high resolution molecular images but so far they were obtained in UHV at low temperatures. Is Bruker working to offer a machine with this imaging mode? Thank you

  • Signal acess module

Hello, please I would like to run an experiment with the Nanoscope IIIA (SW 5.31r1) and the Signal Acess Module (SAM). I would like to monitor the deflexion signal using the SAM and at the same time input a potential ramp between -2V up to 2V using the input connection of the Z piezo. What should I do? Should I just connect the cables or is there any

  • AFM problems

Please, I would like to have some advice about what could be happening to our NSIIIA. The students noticed that the display on the NS base fades when approaching the tip and the motor makes stranges noises. Once there was a report of a burning smell. We tested the system and this behavior happened again, the display went from green to dark grey and

  • Re: MFM and Z piezo drift

Dear Stefan and Pete, thank you for your suggestions on the MFM experiment. We have a NSIIIA equipped with a quadrex. Unfortunately, we do not have a closed loop scanner. We are trying to look at material remaining from biological tissues. We hope to have some iron inside this sample and that the MFM could detect it. The iron remaining appears to form
