I will try that. Thank you; hope it works.

Dear community, I have serious problems verifying my PeakForce QNM images. In order to prove the modulus and adhesion maps I got, I decided to do Point-&-Shoot measurements of the respective hard and soft (or sticky and non-sticky) areas. That way I wanted to show the different moduli and adhesion properties as force-distance curves. The problem

Thanks for your advice! I found now that you must simply click that the machine should take the next image and then wait until the image is complete. At that point the "Ramp and Capture" button gets active. Makes sense of course.

Dear Ang Li, Thanks for the answer. Yes, I do calibrate the deflection sensitivity prior to calibration. Indeed, I do not calibrate the spring constant separately. I always choose the "lowest given" spring constant, say 20 N/m when it is given that it should lie between 20 and 80 N/m and try to adjust the tip radius afterwards. Yhould I measure

I made some additional thoughts on that now: I have read that the deformation should be at least three times the "deflection" to give reasonable values. I think the "deflection" ist the bending of the cantilever here. So, if I indent to up to 200 mV with a deflection sensitivity of around 40 nm/V, does that mean that the deflection

Dear Community, I have some difficulties verifying manually my modulus results I measured with PeakForce QNM and I hope you can help me. Below you can find one of my data files ("Example Modulus Determination") showing separation data in the first column and force data in the second one. (1) First of all: Is it a problem that the force is

Dear community, I had to face the same problem. Is there any solution? Dietmar Haba

Dear community, I use PeakForce QNM and I am particularly interested in the modulus data. Due to the high modulus of my material, I use the "relative method" for calibration of the tip and calibrate it on the "PSfilm" polystyrene test sample. However, I always struggle adjusting the tip radius and spring constant values: The measured

Hi, Stefan, Hmm... Well, then I'll go on drying them, but I'll use the brush you recommended or something similar. My experiments should not be very critical, so I don't think that a glove-box is necessary. Thanks a lot, Dietmar

Dear Stefan, Thanks again for your helpful advice. I'm okay with that. If I can see differences strong enough to be measued I will think about the professional methodology. Best regards, Dietmar Haba
