Please, I would like to have some advice about what could be happening to our NSIIIA.

The students noticed that the display on the NS base fades when approaching the tip and the motor makes stranges noises. Once there was a report of a burning smell. We tested the system and this behavior happened again, the display went from green to dark grey and the motor made a strange noise. We shut down the control unit promptly. This behavior was seen when trying to engage in contact and in tapping mode.

What could be wrong with the electronics, is it the motor or the scanner or borth?. We used the J scanner.

Thank you,

Luci

Hi Luci,

I suggest contacting Bruker customer support immediately before attempting to turn the unit on again.

Best,
