I notice that when I set a parameter, for example rotation or scan range (manually typing it) it simply is ignored in the scan. What gives?

Thanks.

Indeed, Bede, I was forgetting to press Enter. All clear now, though it is somewhat misleading not to have any visual feedback in order to know if the parameter was accepted. There's room for improvement in user-friendliness here, I guess.

Thanks a lot!

Can you provide a little more detail?  What software version are you using?  On what microscope?

I'm assuming that you typed the number into one of the cells in the scan parmlist.  Did you press enter?  Sometimes I forget to press enter and I just click elsewhere.  This does not always work...

Good point.  I will talk with software and see if we can make this clearer.
