  • New users of the SPM Digest

Dear all, is it still possible for new user to access the SPM Digest? Some of my collaborators did try to register, yet their applications are pending since a while. Thank you and best regards, Alessandro

  • all-metal Pt tips from RMN for conductive AFM

Dear all, is anybody using the all-platinum conductive tips fom RMN for conductive AFM/current measurements ? Can you please comment on the stability, imaging and electric performance of these tips? Their geometry is definitely not standard and I have found contradictory reports here and there. I have tried several different models of metal-coated tips

  • Re: Updated "File format" manual for v9.2 Nanoscope software

Another quick update. Also standard maps (height, amplitude error, phase...) in v9.2 are saved with twice the number of points. The second map is obtained by sorting one point every two (starting with the second) and reshaping according to number of lines and number of points. Which maps are these? I would greatly appreciate to receive illuminating

  • Fixing a Multimode fluid cell broken into pieces

Dear all, accidentally, the fluid cell of our Multimode recently fell into ground. It is now broken into 3 glass pieces. I will buy a new one, nevertheless since the cantilever seat, the area around it, and the electrical connections seem to be OK, I would like to try to glue the pieces together, to be hopefully able to use the holder at least for non

  • Re: Updated "File format" manual for v9.2 Nanoscope software

I add some information to my previous message, which is specific of the exportation of FCs acquired during point & shoot launched within a PFT environment. Differently from the case of the 9.1beta software installed on my Catalyst system, in 9.2 the vector of deflection values extract from the raw .spm file of a force curve is twice as large. In

  • Updated "File format" manual for v9.2 Nanoscope software

Dear all, I need an updated manual explaining the file format in v9.2 Nanoscope software. In particular I am struggling with the exportation of force curves (in particular those acquired in PFT environment). Thanks for help, Alessandro

  • Old Signal Acquisition Module (SAM) on a new Multimode 8

Dear all, I have an old Signal Acquisition Module (SAM) that I use to read/write signals from/to my Nanoscope IV Multimode. This old SAM had been originally bought for bridging the Multimode to a Nanoscope IIIa controller; it is a fully passive breakout box. Typical use consists in reading the raw deflection signal from the photodiode, writing fake

  • Re: Force volume on Bioscope Catalyst - Defl. vs ZSensor ?

Thank you Bede for clarifying this aspect of FV to me. It would be very useful in the future to have the possibility of selecting between Zpiezo and Height Sensor! A last question: the topographic map in FV is it built relying on the Height Sensor or on the Zpiezo channel? I am asking this because I worry that If Zpiezo channel is used to build the

  • Re: Force volume on Bioscope Catalyst - Defl. vs ZSensor ?

Dear Andrea, thank you for your help. I tried to follow your indications but it did not work (I also tried the last software version v8.15r3sr5). In standard force curve panel I can manage to plot Deflection vs Height Sensor instead of Defl. vs Zpiezo, as you suggest. This is what we do routinely. The problem is that in switching to the FV panel this

  • Re: Accuracy of calibration grids

Dear Dmitry, thank you for your message. I will try to apply autocorrelation analysis and look at the link you suggest. I'll forward to you any information I will receive on gratings specs. Best regards, Alessandro
