Please see the job description below. Fine with German or French speaking nationals. Ideal candidate should be able to communicate in both languages but not a must. Capability to communicate in English is a must!!
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Customer facing product training, installation, upgrade, applications support, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of Bruker Atomic Force Microscopes, Stylus & Optical Profilers, Tribology & Mechanical Testing and applications for customers both domestic and international.
2. Diagnostics and troubleshooting of Bruker Atomic Force Microscopes, Stylus & Optical Profilers, Tribology & Mechanical Testers both applications & instrument
3. Front line customer interface and support
4. Create, develop, and continuously improve the customer support & applications training material for
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. 85% Diagnostics and troubleshooting of Atomic Force Microscope, Stylus & Optical Profilers, Tribology & Mechanical Testing, applications and systems, product training, installation, upgrade, preventative maintenance and applications support
2. 15% Create, develop training material for customer and internal training
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Post-sales support
2. Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. >65% travel on short notice both domestically and international
2. Able to lift 40lb from floor to hip height
3. Must have knowledge of ESD compliance regulations.
4. Must be flexible to change and comfortable with ambiguity
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Solid theoretical understanding of physics to enable problem solving of complex system and application issues.
2. Able to experiment, test, diagnose, troubleshoot complex cutting edge electro-mechanical and computerized systems using standard tools such as oscilloscope, multimeter, etc....
3. Knowledge of Stylus, Optical profiles, Atomic Force Microscopy, Tribology & Mechanical Testing and associated applications highly desired.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with MS office proficiency.
5. Ability to multitask & team player.
6. Self-sufficient in computer/networking skills necessary to analyze logs, summarize data.
7. Able to travel both domestically and internationally on short notice.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimum Bachelor of Science with 5 year experience or with Master with 3years experience or PhD preferred, in Engineering or Physics with preference to Electrical Engineering. Other scientific degrees will be considered.
2. Laboratory experience highly desirable
3. Stylus, Optical profiler, Atomic Force Microscopy, Tribology & Mechanical Testing and/or associated applications experience desired.
4. Training experience preferred.
