Switching Laser On and Off

We're using a Dimension ICON AFM. I have two questions really.

The first, is the DarkLift feature an add-on we need to purchase?

Secondly, is there a way to use the SAM V breakout box to switch the laser power on and off? We would like to perform laser light switching tests in C-AFM with the cantilever touching a spot for a few seconds. Ideally, we would like to send a square wave signal to the SAM box that turns the laser on and off with some duty cycle.
