  • Re: Force curves don't agree with PeakForce QNM image

If you cannot verify the PFQNM images with slower measurements, you can assume that they are artifacts. PF Capture wouldn't help as it scans with the same speed and might therefore be affected by the same artifacts. Anyway, I made some highly magnified scans that showed that the scan speed had no influence on these images. You can find additional

  • Re: point and shoot marked list file format

Actually, point-and-shoot should create a folder containing all the ramp curves, the image and a MCA-file (at least it does in my case). This MCA-file combines the image with the ramp curves very nicely then. If you use point-&-shoot correctly, you should get such MCA-file. Best regards, Dietmar

  • Re: Incorrect data import to Matlab?

Dear Moritz, Glad to read that you could use my hints. I tried to open the example files myself as well now, and I came to the same result: It doesn't seem to work. I have no idea why. Regarding the units: The variable is called scaleUnit , and for all image types (not only for Height images) it is "nm". I load images, not curves, so I

  • Re: Incorrect data import to Matlab?

Dear Moritz, Sorry for the late answer. I did answer earlier, but apparently something went wrong here in the forum, so once again: I never imported PFC-data, but only images so far. However, it seems your problem is very general and does not on which data type you want to import. Generally, you need to install Microsoft Windows SDK 7.1 in order to

Dear Moritz, I never imported PFC-data, but only images so far. However, it seems your problem is very general and does not on which data type you want to import. Generally, you need to install Microsoft Windows SDK 7.1 in order to use NSMatlabUtitities.m. If you didn't, you will get the error message 'Unable to load DataSourceDll.dll. Please

  • Re: Incorrect data import to Matlab?

I must correct myself: It seems the first issue happens only for flattened images! Doing exactly the same on an original image gives exactly the height data in nm you can see in NanoScope Analysis as well. The second issue remains: All data channels have the scale "nm". Dietmar

  • Incorrect data import to Matlab?

Dear community, I finally managed to import my (metric) AFM data to Matlab, which was quite a hard task. Qualitatively, everything works perfectly fine; the images look exactly the same in Matlab as the do in NanoScope Analysis. However, the quantitative values are entirely different. Where the height is in the range of -1 nm, Matlab gives -56, where

  • Re: Peak Force Capture force curves

Dear Ash, Thanks a lot. Sounds promising. However, it happened to me that the live force curves looked fine, but the HSDC- of PFC-curves didn't. I think this might not help to overcome this problem?! Dietmar

  • Custom reference sample

Dear community, I keep having problems with my PSfoil reference sample for the Peak-Force QNM modulus calibration. In particular, it causes troubles that there is some soft pollution on the surface that is frequently dragged over the surface, precluding exact calibration. This pollution existed already directly after purchasing. Furthermore, I always

  • Re: Peak Force Capture force curves

Dear Mike, I had a very similar problem ( http://nanoscaleworld.bruker-axs.com/nanoscaleworld/forums/t/1498.aspx ). At the beginning I had the feeling that automatized gains improved the outcome, but later I found that there are situations where it doesn't help you out. Seems to be an unsolved problem. Dietmar
