SUMMARY: The North America Sales-Application Manager is responsible for management of Bruker Nano’s Application Team supporting the Research AFM, Stylus Profiler & Optical Profiler product lines. The responsibilities include management of all (Sales-) Application activities as well as demonstration facilities, supporting the North American sales organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for the demonstration laboratories in Santa Barbara – CA, Tucson – AZ and Malvern – PA.• Lead an interdisciplinary team of applications scientists located in different States (WI, PA, CA, AZ,..). • Manage and in certain cases perform product demonstrations, both at our application laboratories and at customer sites • Provide in-depth technical and applications advice to colleagues and customers• Establish and maintain communication and relationships with customers• Attend shows, conferences - making presentations and leading workshops• Understand customer needs, gain customer feedback and improve customer satisfaction• Develop in-depth understanding of competitive product offerings to support the local sales team• Work closely with the North American Sales Director in driving instrumentation sales to meet and exceed corporate forecasts
REQUIREMENTS:• PhD in a subject close to scanning probe microscopy or nano-meter scale characterization, or equivalent based on experience• Several years of post-University, multi-disciplinary experience is an advantage• Expertise in microscopy techniques including scanning probe microscopy, interferometry an/or stylus profiling • Strong team leadership and communication skills• Highly self-motivated with a competitive “will to win”• Ready to travel frequently (Minimum 50%)
