  • NanoScope Controller

Hello, Some student left the NanoScope on and turned off the computer. It maybe lasts for a few months ( I don't know exactly how long). It is Veeco Dimension Icon. My question is how do I know the Piezo and controller are working fine. Do I need to do calibration? Thanks! Fangfang

  • Re: peakforce qnm in fluid

Hello Bede, I tried to adjust the DMT modulus limit. It doesn't help. The line of DMT modulus was a flat line. I don't know where to adjust the bit noise level. Would you please tell me where it is? Thanks! fangfang

Hello, I have one more question. I was scanning some samples by ScanAsyst in air. When scanning, the z piezo voltage was not stable. The peak force was ok. At the start point, it was about -55 V. After 10 mins scanning, it changed to +80 V, and it kept increase until it turned to red. Why? and How to fix? Thanks! Fangfang

  • Re: peakforce qnm in fluid

Hello Ang and Bede, Thanks for the suggestions. I will try to do some experiments in the fluid. Regarding the DMT modulus, I calibrated the deflection sensitivity for ScanAsyst Air is about 67nm/V. It works good on the PDMS soft-1 reference sample. But if I scan to my own sample, it didn't work. I reduced the deflection sensitivity as Ang suggested

  • peakforce qnm in fluid

Hello, I am using Veeco dimension icon. I want to measure DMT modulus of hydrogel in the water. How to calibrate the deflection sensitivity, spring constant and tip radius? Should I do the calibration ScanAsyst fluid tip in the water or in the air? If in the water, how to do? When I scan some PDMS samples, the line of DMT modules is flat or pixel. And

  • NanoMan-anodic oxidation

Hello, I am trying to make anodic oxidation on Silicon. The AFM I used is Dimension Icon. The tip I used is SCM-PIT. I followed the steps on the manual ( 013-413-000). But all I got are some points, no lines. I have tried to change the tip voltage, XY velocity, etc. But it doesn't help very much. Can you give me some suggestions? This is my first

  • PFQNM-sample kit

Hello, My question is about PFQNM- sample kit. I measured two samples: PDMS1 and PDMS2. For PDMS1, the value is 8.8 MPa. For PDMS2, the value is 3.7 MPa. The value for PDMS2 is acceptable. But what happened for PDMS1? I did the calibrations of deflection sensitivity, k and tip radius. I measured samples one by one. If I did something wrong, I couldn't

  • DMT modulus

Hi, After I got DMT modulus image, how do I analyze the image? Such as the average value of DMT modulus? Do I need to flatten the image? Thanks! Fangfang

  • surface potential

Hi, I am using Dimesion Icon. I try to measure surface potential. But I never tried before. Do you have any simple and straightforword manual that can help me to get start? The software I am using now is "Nanoscope 8.15R2". There are three types of probes for this measurement ( SCM-PIT, MESP and DDESP). How do I choose the probe? Another question
