Major artifact at small lift height is topography, if your lipid is more than 1nm high, you will see artifact at the edge giving your lift height being 0.5-1nm. Btw, is your exp done in liquid? And what probe you used? 9v driving seems abnormal for air.

Hi, Different mode has different ramping mechanism, tapping mode ramping gives you amplitude vs. z, so tip is still oscillating. Force script gives you more flexibility of force control, you can contact me at Ang.li@bruker-nano.com for more information. Ang Li

Hi, The scanner won't stop immediately when trigger force is reached since it's linear ramp mode and it takes time from constant velocity to zero. The higher frequency, the higher speed and more overshoot in terms of force. The frequency is linked to ramp size, you just try a slightly different ramp size. Ang Li

please try negative delta, -2V for example, somehow the sign is negative though deflection is increased I guess. Ang Li

The trigger threshold controls the force and I am not sure whether your 'deflection setpoint' refers to the trigger or to the imaging setpoint. Anyway, if you lose contact region of the curve when you have larger threshold, just increase the ramp size or use step motor to move up a bit to get it back. Another simple way is to use a stiffer cantilever

Hi, Shin, TESPA or RTESPA is ok but maybe TAP525 is better, it's not that expensive as diamond probe but stiffer than normal tapping probes. you don't need to achieve 2nm deformation on hard materials, ~1nm is still ok for good modulus measurement. You didn't get larger deformation when you increase the setpoint just because your cantilever

Hi, Bhaskar, What system are you using? Could you turn z close loop on so you can collect force curves on height sensor instead of height? Ang Li

Hi, Scott, It's not necessary to see the laser in MM8 camera (don't reply on it as a laser alighment method) and actually in many cases you don't see like in the cases of in fluid imaging. The laser is not detected from the camera but from the photodiode in the head and if any light you saw from camera, they are just scattered light from

Hi, Lauren, Yes, you can use the mean value of the whole image for tip radius estimation and update the modulus channel using image math, it should give you a slightly better result than fixing the setpoint to achieve 2nm deformation on one of the component. Ang Li

Hi, to my experience, ~10 sec is normal for exporting image data, though it may depend on the computer configuration. Ang Li
