Thanks for your questions. The image that you provided shows that you are having some tracking issues, noticeably in the left side of the pits, that may be contributing to the histogram data in Depth analysis being a bit choppy. Also, the Histogram Filter Cutoff is set to 0, so any noisy data in the histograms will affect the determination of the peak

Hi Chad, 1 The low moment probes have a thinner magnetic coating and may allow slightly improved lateral resolution, although as you mentioned a somewhat weaker response. 2 Imaging on a hard disk magnet won't damage the tip, but depending on the coercivity of the tip it may realign the domains. If the MFM data looks to be typically attractive (not

Hi 'acurtin', Let me know if you exchanged the DSP and hard drive as you described earlier. If that didn't work then we'll need to swap out the NSV. Best, Mark

Hi Vivek, You need to rule out any type of probe alignment issues. Please verify that the probe is snug in the cantilever holder and that you don't have any bending due to heating. You can try loading a stiff, non-coated silicon lever and verify that it does or doesn't drift. If this is a Multimode, make sure the clamp in the optical head is

This typically happens when a file gets corrupted. It can be as easy as replacing the system.par file, or more complicated with the vision drivers. Depending on the age of the system, you might have a backup directory of your Nanoscope software that has / Par and / Equip directories. If you do, backup your scanner calibration file from the / Equip directory
