  • Troubleshooting set-up of the MATLAB toolbox for Nanoscope Analysis

In 2016 the MATLAB toolbox was significantly updated to support new data formats. Additionally, it has been moved to a separate installer to make it easier to get set up and productive. I do not recommend trying to use the older versions (supplied with Nanoscope Analysis versions prior to 1.80) any longer...

  • Re: Nanoscope Analysis and Matlab

Hi Cassie, Sorry about your frustration about lack of a Mac version. There have been rumors that it might be possible to run Nanoscope Analysis on an emulator running on a Mac, but we don't support it. Please post back here if you try it and have any success. The Matlab toolbox is a feature of Nanoscope...

  • Re: Correct Zaxis Aspect Ratio in NanoScope Analysis

Hi Dietmar, To make the 3d image have the correct scaling, you need to adjust the 'Zaxis Aspect Ratio' to consider both the Scan Size and the Z scale: Right click on the color scale bar, choose 'Color Scale...' and choose the 'Modify Data Scale' tab Adjust the 'Display'...

  • Re: Debris or artifact?

That definitely looks like debris is being picked up by the tip, causing a step. Additionally, it looks like you have used a second or third order flatten or a realtime "Bow" fit, causing the steps to turn into arched scan lines. Please take a look at the offline manual section on flattening...

  • Re: Thin film Hardness by PDNISP

Hi Ranna, With AFM, hardness is usually evaluated based on the residual indentation left after the indent. It is usually defined as Hardness=Maximum load/projected area of the pit left by the indent. The Maximum load is just your ramp mode trigger (assuming you are using relative triggering and you have...

  • Re: NanoScope Analysis splashscreen

Hi Chris, Add your images (image1.bmp or image2.tif) to the Bruker\NanoScopeAnalysis\SplashScreens directory. You should also add a text file with the same name, but ending with .txt.bin as a caption (image1.txt.bin or image2.txt.bin). When you look in the directory you should see some examples. Please...

  • Igor procedure to read High Speed Data Capture Data into Igor waves

Igor function to read a Nanoscope High Speed Data Capture (HSDC) file and load the data into Igor waves with appropriate scaling. The native Nanoscope file is read and the ASCII header is parsed to get scaling factors while the binary part is read directly, so no export is required. See the comments...
